London Calling

London city in November. What a moody, captivating place. A place it seems that always has something for everyone. A part of England where there is a constant bustle of millions of people going to and fro about their lives in a busy must-get-somewhere fashion.
It happens that I found myself in the middle of all this orderly madness for a few days this past week. A welcome break indeed from the monotony of life and work here in my city. I didn't (and probably still don't) know the city too well before arriving in its midst on a cold Wednesday afternoon at Victoria Station, with a light drizzle falling quietly outside and the mood, the difference struck me the minute I stepped out of the train carriage right into the rush of people going hurriedly about their business across the station. There seemed to be some sort of electricity injected into everyone.
London town, city of entertainment, culture and cultures. So many people, so many different peoples and yet everyone caught in this strange frenzy. It is rather marvelous.
Sunday roast. Sunday afternoon in the park. Lazy cold autumn evening falling across the landscape of towers and houses, a little further than the green breather space of grass and trees. A break from everything?
Monday morning rush. Tube jammed, people running, traffic at a standstill. Millions of people.
London.
