Of Sugar Lumps and Honey Pots

It sat there, cosily nestled between the honey pots, that little bowl of goodness. Brown and white, the lumps sat peacefully mixed, enticing, asking to be added to a hot cup of tea or coffee that might be at hand.
The honey pots looked ominously on. Their seriousness present, to be taken seriously, with respect for the delicate scented content inside. No - they did not ask to be savored. They knew that the respect they commanded put them above the common sugar. Even greater than the demerara - queen of sugars - they were and so they just remained there, royal, majestic.
The sugar and the honey, entities of sweetness thus competed for the glory of a hot drink.
