Eclipse

The concept of magic and divinity was present in my mind today as the discussions and buzz of the event about to take place on this day made their way through the airwaves. In ancient times, it might have been considered a sign of ire and tribulation for the misdeeds of mankind. Indeed the science of ancient astrology must have commanded great power over a people terrified by the uncertainty and voracity of nature.

But today's event was more about precautions and excitement over this semi-rare solar spectacle. I too found myself rather expectant. And as the eerie light of an eclipse fell over the city I could not help but notice the mysterious sensation it caused, as if some higher force were at work. A thousand years ago, I might have felt scared.
